THE "MOVING MOUNTAIN"
Water always finds the fastest way down.
In the Boise Foothills, Star, and Eagle, properties are often built on slopes or near sandy ridges. When we get heavy rain or rapid snowmelt, water cuts channels through your yard, carrying away topsoil and mulch.

Even worse, sprinkler runoff creates daily micro-erosion. Over time, this exposes your foundation footings and can cause retaining walls to fail due to soil pressure buildup.
Danger Zone:
If you see "rivulets" or mini-canyons forming in your planter beds after a storm, your soil is actively destabilizing.

SURFACE WATER SOLUTIONS
We intercept water at the surface and move it where it belongs: away from your home.
1
Dry Creek Beds
Also called "Rock Swales." We excavate a channel, line it with fabric, and fill it with river rock. This slows down water flow while beautifying your yard.
2
Drainage Berms
We build raised mounds of compacted soil (berms) to physically redirect water flow away from sensitive areas like patios or foundations.
3
Retaining Support
For steeper slopes, we install rock retaining walls or soil reinforcement grids to mechanically hold the earth back and prevent slides.
4
Sub-Surface Pipe
Often combined with swales, we bury perforated pipe underneath the rock to carry high volumes of water underground to a safe discharge point.
SURFACE DRAINAGE FAQS
Will a Dry Creek Bed look natural?
Yes. We use varied sizes of local river rock and boulders to mimic natural stream beds found in the Idaho foothills. It looks like intentional landscaping, but functions as high-capacity drainage.
My backyard slopes toward my house. Can you fix it?
Yes. This is called "Negative Grade" and it's dangerous for your foundation. Depending on the severity, we can either install a French drain to intercept the water or bring in fill dirt to physically reverse the slope.
Do you build large retaining walls?
We specialize in drainage-focused retention (up to ~3-4 feet) using large boulders or rock stacking. For massive structural engineering projects, we can refer you to specialized partners, but we handle the drainage behind the wall.
