WHY PUMPS FAIL IN IDAHO
It's usually not the pump—it's the power or the float.
In the Treasure Valley, storms that bring heavy rain often bring wind that knocks out the power. If your pump depends on wall power, your basement floods exactly when you need protection most.

Additionally, cheap plastic pumps overheat when fighting the high volume of water we see during spring thaw. A seized pump is just as bad as no pump at all.
Critical Warning:
If your current pump is over 7 years old or makes a loud grinding noise, it is at high risk of failure this season.

THE IDS TRIPLE-SAFE STANDARD
We install systems designed for worst-case scenarios.
1
Sealed Basin
We install a perforated liner with a sealed lid. This stops humidity, smells, and radon gas from entering your home, while letting water in.
2
Primary Cast Iron Pump
We use Zoeller or Liberty pumps. Their cast-iron housing dissipates heat, allowing them to run continuously without burning out.
3
Battery Backup
A secondary DC pump sits higher in the pit. If power fails or the primary pump is overwhelmed, this kicks in automatically.
4
Check Valve & Discharge
We install silent check valves to stop water backflow and pipe the discharge line far away from your foundation to prevent recycling.
SUMP PUMP FAQS
How often should I replace my sump pump?
We recommend proactively replacing primary pumps every 7-10 years. If your pump runs frequently (like in Eagle near the river), the lifespan may be shorter. It is cheaper to replace a pump than a flooded basement.
Can you make my pump quieter?
Yes. Most noise comes from the "thunk" of a cheap check valve or vibration against the pipe. We install silent check valves and ensure the discharge pipe is properly supported to minimize noise.
Do you install WiFi alarms?
Yes. We offer smart monitoring systems that send an alert to your phone if water levels rise dangerously high, so you can know about a problem even if you're on vacation.
